Wrap Won't Wrap a Featureon a Cylinder
Wrap Won't Wrap a Featureon a Cylinder
(OP)
Good morning, I have a fully constraind feature, a hollow arrow with the letters FLO in it, basically a small flow stamp. It is on a plane and I would like to wrap it on a cylinder, but it fails everytime. I have used wrap with pure text and that works, but as soon as the arrow comes into the picture it fails. Am I doing something wrong here? Any ideas? I would eventually like to put this in a library, because I have to put this on hundred of parts. Thank you in advance for any help or ideas.

To fix this, try doing this in two steps. The first is to use lines to form your arrow (convert the entities from your first "master" sketch that you already have). Extrude and wrap the arrow only. Then do the same for your text (except you will probably need to cut your text into your new arrow instead of extrude it.

One would be an extruded solid feature, the other an extruded cut feature.
Use the same original sketch and merely convert entities of the arrow in the first sketch and extrude, and the text in the second sketch and extruded cut. Should be fairly simple.
You may need to Cut Up To Surface for your text cut--meaning you'll need to define a stopping point for your cut by identifying a surface (not sure if the wrap feature will allow this).
In the worst-case scenario, do all this as a single operation. Convert the text to non-text entities inside the arrow, and change the inner o lines to construction lines. Add the cut for the inner o as a separate cut operation. This will work fine, too.

Yes they were total separate in this version and yes I tried them as on also and one then then modified it with a second wrap and then this way with the first wrap supressed. I have tried it every way imaginable. And still nothing.

Check the above link for a part which I believe has the features you're trying to make.

After the initial revolve, I created Sketch2 (be aware of the fact that the lines making up the arrow are construction lines).
I then created Sketch4 and converted the arrow entities (not as construction geometry). Wrap1 was created with Sketch4.
Finally, Wrap2 was created with Sketch2. Hope this helps.

Try putting your sketched arrow and text on your CL plane. The wrap features worked for me when I did this.

Take a look at how this was done - you had some unnecessary construction geometry in there which may have been a source of confusion.
To your last question, CBL is correct, you can dimension to the sketch point. You had specified a sketch line in your text which controlled the position of the text.
