Question in regards to motor wiring

Question in regards to motor wiring

Question in regards to motor wiring

(OP)
I have a electric gear motor off of a graco airless sprayer.  The control box with the pressure settings and such were removed and all I have is the motor.  I am wanting to use the gear motor for a different project and can't seem to wire properly to run.  Motor has 5 wires, one black - one green- one red #1 (printed) - one pink #2(printed) - and one black #3 (printed). I believe it is a 1 1/2 horse with capacitor.  Please advise on how to wire motor for operations.

RE: Question in regards to motor wiring

1> Is there a name plate on the motor? You can usually find connection diagrams at the manufacturers web site.
2> Is the gren wire a ground wire? Check if it goes to the motor windings or connects to the frame.
3> Which wires have continuity?
4> You havn't told us if the capacitor leads are connected or if they are two of the five wires.
