How do you design a surge suppressor stand pipe in a piping system?

RE: Piping Surge

Refer to www.pipingdesign.comand read two papers there on surge.

To start with you need to undertake a surge analysis to determine what level of surge you have. Then you can add the stand pipe to your surge model and determine the optimum size and location.

If this a student's question please refer to the rules of this forum. It is not for student postings.
