Plotting Autocad 2k

Plotting Autocad 2k

(OP)
Have one of the guys here in the office asking me plotting questions about Autocad 2k, (I'm still not very familiar with the changes from 97, and I'm also running LT).  The problem he's running into is, when he brings up the plot dialog, it defaults to selected tab, instead of current tab.  He says it didn't do that before, just started this morning.  If this a setting somewhere that got changed that forces the default to "selected" instead of "current" or is this a case of user error that I haven't solved yet? Also, says when he checks "Save changes to layout" that it doesn't save them.......

RE: Plotting Autocad 2k

Its just something he has to deal with.  The new
plot settings are not an item you want to mess with
in Autocad's new programming.

What's so difficult about that situation anyways?

Nothing really too awful about it, other than my getting to listen to a couple grumbles (ok, more than a couple, but still nothing major) because he has to change settings for every print instead of just telling it to go.

RE: Plotting Autocad 2k

If you don't save changes to layout the plotter configuration will be lost when the drawing is saved. The issue of it not saving the settings could be that you must set each plot configuration in each layout tab, the settings do not default to all tabs. You can also set the parameters to save the last valid plot configuration, which, if is checked will override the current settings until the layout tab is plotted.

RE: Plotting Autocad 2k

Striker is correct.  In ACAD 2000 paper space changes,
and becomes known as the layout. By right-clicking
the layout tab on the lower left of the screen, you
can set that one layout to plot exactly how you want
it every time. The right-click allows you to set the
settings without plotting the drawing. It will refer
to those settings on any other computer that opens the
drawing.  If those settings don't exist in another
computer, it will show.

Thank you very much, that seems to solve his problems, not mentioning making my life easier....
