Partial section on assembly drawing

Partial section on assembly drawing

Partial section on assembly drawing

(OP)
Anyone out there got step by step instructions on doing a partial section on an assembly drawing?

I can do the full and half sections, but what I want is a partial section through a small part of the assembly, so that I can show this at a larger scale.

RE: Partial section on assembly drawing

I would create a full section (at a smaller scale if a large part), adjust the view boundaries to suit, then change to the desired scale.  The section line will usually need to be adjusted also, so that it is only cutting the area desired.
Another method is to create the full section, adjust the section line to area desired, then update the section view.

RE: Partial section on assembly drawing

From what you are describing, I would use a "Break-Out" Section.

If you would like I can provide you some help in generating this if you would like.
