IEC Type MCCs and Cables

IEC Type MCCs and Cables

IEC Type MCCs and Cables

(OP)
To ALL,
Does anyone know whether there is a company manufacturing IEC type tested Form 4 draw out MCCs in N. America? We are bidding on a job in the ME that rquires 415V 50Hz IEC type MCCs.
It also requires 0-1kV XLPE multi conductor cables so I also want to know whether these are available also.
Thanks
Barrie66

RE: IEC Type MCCs and Cables

Nobody is going to manufacture them in North America, there is no market for them here. You may be able to convince a US branch of Siemens, Moeller or Schneider to import some for you though if you explain that it is for export.

Olflex for the cable.

RE: IEC Type MCCs and Cables

Barrie66,

As you said the job is ME (Middle East), why do you need manufacturer in N.A.? Why don't you ask your local representatives of ABB, Schneider, Siemens, ... to give you the price for installation in ME!

They all have both IEC and NEC equipment!

Thanks jraef/tommy for the input. The problem we have is that we need the MCC to factory test our OEM equipment before export!! It really would be a pain to import it from o/seas then re-export again, having to go through the gyrations with import duties etc. It certainly looks like that is the only way possible
Tks again

RE: IEC Type MCCs and Cables

IEC type tested contactors and circuit breakers are available from North American suppliers but not MCC's, especially draw out.  I searched for some recently for projects using American funding with requirements that a certain percentage of the project be from US suppliers.  I could not find any MCC’s with IEC certifications.  Many parts for MCC’s are IEC, but no assemblies are. (That I could find.)

Make sure you look at the problems of testing a 400V, 50 HZ system with a 480 V 60Hz power supply or see if you can rent a generator.
