I want to start reading about HIPPS. could anyone tell me where to start?

Among the other choices available, look at “High Integrity Pressure Protection Systems, Instrument Engineers Handbook, Volume 3, Chapter 2, Section 6, 2002. ASME Case Code 2211 and API 521 have provisions for the use of instrumented systems to mitigate overpressure events.
