Any good references for or experience with allowable stress in 150 years old wood joists?  3x11, clear, haven't determined the species yet.  The calculated bending stress under load is 2450 psi.
I have the NDS tables from 1991 and WCLIB grading rules from 1991, also Wood Engineering and Construction Handbook lists allowables reduced relative to 'clear' wood.

Thanks for sharing your experience,
David

thank you haynewp.  And that discussion was not so long ago either!  I'll look a little harder next time.
