I just replaced my old Microsoft 5 button optical mouse with a Logitech  wireless mouse. The only wierdness I've noticed is  that now when I zoom with the wheel the "Zoom Origin" is the center of the display, not the location of the mouse pointer. I can't seem to find any setting that effects this, either in the Logitech software or Solidworks (2006 PS 2.0). I wonder if anyone has any insight on this.

Oh yah, the "Zoom About Screen Center" setting has no effect.

RE: zooming with Logitech mouse

Im using a Logitech MX310 and it has always zoomed to the mouse pointer.  I just went thru the settings, and didnt see any settings affecting the zoom point.

Mine is the new MX1000. What version of the SetPoint software are you using?

RE: zooming with Logitech mouse

Have you unchecked "Disable Acceleration in games" for the mouse?

Version of driver I am using is:

Control Center Version: 9.79.019
Mouse Driver Version: 9.79

Where is that setting?

RE: zooming with Logitech mouse

In the properties of the mouse under Motion. It's a small check box below the speed slider.

We different software. The Logitech software that came with my mouse is called SetPoint and the newest version is 2.47. It doesn't have the setting that you describe.

RE: zooming with Logitech mouse

Setpoint has been sketchy for me.  It self-corrupted several times with past versions, forcing uninstall, reinstall multiple times.  The current version seems OK.  I've not had the zoom problem you mentioned, however (MX-6000 or 6100 Cordless Laser--great mouse).

Well, I found the problem. It seems that the Logitech software conflicts with the SolidWorks Plug-In for my SpaceMouse. Once I removed it from my Add-In list, the zooming worked normally. I guess I'll try to update the SpaceMouse drivers and see what happens.

RE: zooming with Logitech mouse

alolesen, I'd be interested to hear what you find out, since I'm considering getting a SpacePilot sometime.  I would rather not have to change my mouse in doing so.  Please post back with results.

Everything seems to be back to normal. I have installed the newest drivers from both Logitech and 3DCONNEXION and and everything seems to be working well with no conflicts. yinyang

Oh yah, by the way the Logitech MX1000 is pretty sweet!
