Faking dimensions..

Faking dimensions..

Faking dimensions..

I am looking for a good way to override dimensions with text (Symbols and text).

Any suggestions?

The only way I have found is to create the dimension, then right click on it, select properties.  Then I check the fake box on the value tab.  Then I type in the text in the "Alphanumerical" box (If I want symbols before and after the text, I must use the "Alt + number" to insert one of them).  The symbol icon does not work while changing text in this manner.

Thanks for any help.

Also, is there a way to turn off the "Underline" on the fake dimension text?

RE: Faking dimensions..

I don't know what version of Catia you are using, but on some versions, this seems to be standard. (no underline, that is)  On all versions, it can be turned on or off via the properties dialog.

I know that you want a more "automated" solution, so for more information on the subject, search your computer for the help document, called "driugsa0404.htm"

Hope that helps.

Thanks a bunch.  I needed to set my "FAKIdentifyMode" = 4 to remove the underline.

Thanks again!

RE: Faking dimensions..

Have you checked in the Drafting Standards?  You may be able to turn that off globally from there.
