Displaying Cross Hatch Patterns In Modeled Assemblies
Displaying Cross Hatch Patterns In Modeled Assemblies
(OP)
Using Solidworks 2001,
I would like to know how to display or show the cross hatch patterns of each component that was assembled in an assembly model (Not Drawing) when cutting through the model with the "CUT-EXTRUDE" OPTION?
This will help assemblers visualize the assembly of several components fitted together where an exploded view might not help.
I do see each component cut but not displaying their appropriate material section.
Any response will be greatly appreciated!!

Realize that cross-sections are Medieval substitutions for color. Back in the days of pen and ink, we were pretty much restricted to one color - black. Don't you love modern technology!!!
Actually, Medieval manuscripts were illuminated, so I guess the ugly black ink representations have to be called Industrial Age Monochrome.

For "presentation" section views of a model, I like to create an Assembly Feature of a Cut, then I select all the cut-faces and change the face color to red (Face Properties).
