dgn-dwg conversion

dgn-dwg conversion

We are running Acad 2005 and would like to import [Microstation] .dgn drawings. Many of these have been converted to .dwg, but cannot be opened in Autocad without
crashing.
We would like to try to convert the .dgn drawings ourselves and see if we have better luck. What programs are the best for this conversion?

Thank you,
Chuck Reynolds

RE: dgn-dwg conversion

Microstation will convert dgn to dwg.  I would suggest starting with that.  Prehapse saving them as an earlier version of dwg may help.

RE: dgn-dwg conversion

Have you tried AutoCAD's map/import command to load .dgns dirtectly?

We just discovered Map's function for converting the drawings and are having good luck with that.
Thanks for the responses.
