1.767-18 NS screw thread, looking for information

1.767-18 NS screw thread, looking for information

(OP)
Hi all,

I'am working for a company in the netherlands.
We are working on a prioduct for a American company.
Now we have to machine a part that contains a screw thread 1.767-18 NS-3B.

I'am searching for information how to machine this.
Because we have only one item to machine with this thread, i'am looking for information or tools that is free availible.

Thank you for your response.

Kind regards,
Jaap van Wijngaarden

Use your thread depth measurement according to 18 pitch 3B, and make your own go-no go gage plug if necessary.  It's really not difficult, nor is it incorrect to transpose tolerancing and relevant dimensions from data from a nearby size, such as 1.750 x 18 tpi.

Maybe it is not that difficult but we have no experience with machining this type of thread.
Threads like UNC and UNF are not such a problem, for this we can use standard availible tapping tools.
These tools are also availible here in The Netherlands.

Do you know where I can find some technical information about this thread.
At this moment we have no technical information about this type of thread so I'am also looking for a website where I can find information, buy a book or software about this thread.

Do someone have any suggestions!

Just a guess, but perhaps it is a 45mm metric with a 18TPI pitch. I have seen these crossed up metric and U.S. threads before. My Jet lathe has a spindle thread that is 60mm x 8TPI called out.

Look at the N-09 locknut at http://www.nookindustries.com/pdf/LockNut.pdf.  You'll find Major, Picth and Minor Diameters listed for your 1.767-18 Class 3 internal thread listed in the table.
