Sealing medium that changes state from thick gel to semi soild.

(OP)
Sealing Medium that changes state:

I'm trying to find a "liquid rubber-like material" that when heated or activated by a catalyst changes state from being a liquid (say syrup like or a gel) to a semi solid with a hardness of about 30 to 60 Shore A.

The application is for a down hole tool that will push this liquid from one piston chamber to another at around 110 to 250F (43-120degsC) and then set.  The duration of cure and final set needs to be about 60 days but definitely more than 14 days.

It needs to withstand hydrocarbons and other chemicals.  It would be a great benefit to be a single part mix.

Are there 1 part mixes out there?
Are there 2 part mixes?
And if so who supplies them and what are they called.

I'm getting a bit desperate as I have tried some potting compounds and they go brick hard.  There's very little moisture and no air down hole so using a bathroom silicone sealant doesn't work either.

Any suggestions?

I'm posting this across forums as I think other industries may be able to help to.

Have you considered a hot melt glue? Contact the maufacturers of hot melt resin systems. They may even be able to custom formulate a resin system for you.

Possibly something UV cured?

Henkel/Loctite makes all sorts of stuff.

One possibility is Nusil Technologies.

GE silicones makes just such a catalyst cured gel. we contemplated using it on our downhole tool for vibration damping, but we had problems with outgassing (the chamber was at vacuum).

You might try experimenting with Copaltite.  It sets up quick in a thin layer but in your application it might take longer or maybe if it is thinned sufficiently it might meet your requirements
