non-magnetic bearing

non-magnetic bearing

non-magnetic bearing

(OP)
I have a static test fixture where I am measuring static torque on a 10mm shaft supported on two 6200 304 stainless deep groove ball bearings. Radial loading is 15N per bearing.
I wish to mimimize bearing friction and radial deflection.

Static friction is being measured at 0.7 mNm. Standard steel 6200zz are about half that.

Bearing must be non magnetic.

Any ideas how I could optinize arrangement?  I am considering all ceramic bearings but I am finding it difficult to locate suppliers.

I am open to re-design and different sizes.

RE: non-magnetic bearing

Could you use a flexure instead?  There is a commercial product called "C-flex" I believe, maybe something like that would work for you.

RE: non-magnetic bearing

New Way Air Bearings Air bushings can be used a radial bearings with zero friction.  They are quite stiff.

RE: non-magnetic bearing

We tested spindles on a machine where the shaft was supported on 2 bearings at each support.  If I remember correctly the bearing made contact with the shaft at 90°.   The drive was below similar to a balancing machine.

Here a two suppliers of ceramic bearings.  I would contact them with your requirements.
