Dear Sir,

Sorry if I made English language mistakes in my previous replies to you or others.

Perhaps it would be nice to share with us what foreign languages you master.

Not anybody on this planet is born to speak English. But some try out, and is their merrit.

All the best to you and to all the members of this TECHNICAL FORUM

AS HgTX implied, no one is accusing you of anything. My post was an effort to help anyone and everyone.

We run this web site in english (American English).

We do that because that is our language. Many from other countries speak and write it very well.

RE: See The FAQ

Dumitrescu,

I really don't think the comment was aimed at you.  As you say, you speak (or write) better english than I write ... whatever else.  I am quite sure it was aimed at native english speakers who have not attempted to learn our own language.

RE: See The FAQ

Dear LCruiser,

I am a good or bad civil engineer, but I'm not feeling bad if you consider my English is not the best. But I appreciate our colleagues that try to share their experience with us, and I really do not want to discourage them.
Thanks anyway for your kind words!

RE: See The FAQ

The knowledge & experiences shared by non-native-English forum members vastly outweighs any imperfections in their English.
Americans, Brits, et al. are fortunate that English is widely used worldwide, so that we have the benefit of others w/o browsing foreign language forums.

RE: See The FAQ

Surely if we westerners were to be a little more patient and correct the language used in a constructive way our brothers and sisters from other parts of the world would learn. Their next posting would be better.

How many westerners get upset when foreign nationals use their native tongue when talking amongst themselves in an English speaking country. Yet when they holiday overseas are amazed at friendliness at their attempts to speak the tongue of others.

It is not the quality of the language that I object to but the content. If the posting could be answered by a Google search it should not be made.

RE: See The FAQ

Dear all,

Again you are too kind. What I need on this forum is the pieces of valuable information that I learn from you all!
I respect you all too much for your expertise in this field! Keep on!

Thanks,

RE: See The FAQ

This post could be directed at about 50% of the American born and raised engineers I work with.  Most people who speak English as a second langauge put far more effort into it and it shows.
