Autocad Mechanical Desktop -problems with Windows XP

(OP)
I found a thread about the problem with installing Autocad Mechanical Desktop Powerpack 4 with Windows XP operating system.

The thread was helpful to an extent.  In order to make it work I had to run the Program Compatibility Wizard in the Start Menu > Accessories folder.

Once the window pops up click "Next" then check "I want to locate the program manually".  If you are trying to install from your cd-rom, click "Browse" and go to your cd.  Find the "Setup.exe" file and choose "Next".  I believe either the Windows NT, 98 or 2000 should work.  Click "Next" and follow the remaining directions.

This should make it work.  Hope this helps.
