Hi everyone,
I am currently working on an interior reconfiguration. In doing this I am moving a monument from one position to another. When I do this I need to remove some NAS1832's and repair the holes left behind.
As I'm comming up with reference data for the hole repair, I am citing AC43.13, 3-2 (as perscribed in figure 3-3), and Boeing AMM (for the aircraft). Can anyone think of anything I am missing here? as I am new to the "repair" business.

Do you really need to remove the NAS1832s? You will likely do a lot of damage trying to remove them if they've been properly potted. What is your panel/core combination? Paper (Nomex) cores will be very easily damaged if you try to rip out an old insert. You may fail your whole panel in core shear.
My advice would be to leave them in place. If the margins on your panel are so small that leaving them causes a problem, you might be better off just putting a minor repair over the old insert. Don't worry about core shear, the potting material is proabably stronger than your core material, so you only have a small amount of skin strength to restore.
If you need to remove them because the new inserts will interfere with the old ones, then you won't know what your allowables are for the non-standard installation.
If you need to remove it for cosmetic reasons, you may consider a small deco panel or other decorative feature that you could mount over the old insert.
