is there a way to use a default drawing without changing the ACAD.DWT file?

Right click the program icon, go for properties
In the target box, add your drawing after the quotes.  like the
"D:\Program Files\AutoCAD 2006\acad.exe" d:\t.dwg

and AutoCAD wil open the drawing "T.dwg" everytime.

You can put several different icons on your desktop or start bar with different startup drawings...
