Quick PDMWorks question

(OP)
When chicking in documents is it best to delete local copies or not??

RE: Quick PDMWorks question

Delete them only after you have updated the vault.

RE: Quick PDMWorks question

Double check the parts you check-in and delete are not currently used on other assy's in you local drive. You will lose the links if you do. No problem to fix, just be alert.

RE: Quick PDMWorks question

I have created a PDM works 'out folder' in my documents which is where all my checked out docs get saved when Im working on them and then at the end of the day I check the lot in and delete the contents of the 'out folder', works quite well for me once you get into a routine.

RE: Quick PDMWorks question

I would say it depends on the person. We have one person here who just does not understand how PDM Works. The person would check in OK, then next week change the document and check in again overwriting someone else’s work. So I had to set delete local at check in. Now the person is forced to get it out of the PDM each time after a check in.
