I’m trying to connect Rabbit Microcontroller 2200 to A2D of Analog AD7730. through SPI.
Have any one tried this before?.

RE: Rabbit MicroController to A2D

Though I have a few Rabbit dev boards I have not tried this.

Many, many, times I have hooked PICs to A2Ds via SPI.  Tiz my favoorite interface. I hate I2C!!

RE: Rabbit MicroController to A2D

As an aside, I once worked for the chap who invented I2C... as an interface it's made me a fair amount of money... good on yer, Mr Dick Bugg.

Thanks itsmoked,zeitghost.
What is your impression about Rabbit in general.
I have been trying this communication but it never beend sccessful. The SPI is straight communication which I like. I am designing a product and  I think it suits my application. You will find many guys who worked with ATMEL and you will find many articles here and there but not much about the Rabbit.

RE: Rabbit MicroController to A2D

Hello AGomaa,

My impression is, they have a nice product.  Especially if you want built-in connectivity.  I picked up one of the demo boards and let my son mess with it.  In 15 minutes he had his own web page served up so friends outside of our router could view the page.

Based on the old (but fast and excellent) Z80 with many upgrades, I think Rabbits have a bunch of clout.

They're also nice because you can get a network solution going then roll your own buying just the processors for your product.
