When I convert from v4 to v5 catia either using the batch program or cut-n-paste, the resulting catpart files have a model tree but I am not able to see the solid or surface data?
Can someone tell me what this means or how to see these data?

RE: disappearing solids converting from v4 to v5 catia

There is no "cut" and paste.  You need to do "copy" (Ctrl+C) and paste, and then you should be able to see your solid part.

Check what you have in hide, have experienced that sometimes after converting v4 to v5 I get stuff in hide.

Also make sure that you update your CATPart.  Usually, I find that it is in need of an update, even if I chose As Result.

Thank you all for your responses. They are correct however
The disappearing multiple solid bodys with the data conversions was a catia session settings problem.
See   Tools/Options/PartInfrastructure/Display              do not check  'only current body'

i unchecked this and now can view the entire database at once
