adding quantity to drafting sheet

adding quantity to drafting sheet

adding quantity to drafting sheet

(OP)
The quantity is on the layout drafting sheet in the B.O.M. But my company wants the quantity to show up on the individual drafting sheets.  I can get the quantity to show up on the drafting sheet but it is always 1.  Is there any way to get it to reference the layout BOM?

RE: adding quantity to drafting sheet

Hi flex,
The quantity of any individual part drawing will always be one.
What if you use the part in more than one assembly ?
Unless the quantities are always the same it's pointless putting it on the detail drawing.

I have been telling them that same stuff Beach but they won't listen to me.  So hopefully this will get it through their heads.

RE: adding quantity to drafting sheet

When you issue drawing for fabrication you could put in a note containing quantity and issue date.  This quantity would not be related to assembly and you must make it clear it only relates to particular drawing issue and not any future fabrications.
It would be embarrising if you wanted a single replacement part and drawing had quantity of 1000.
