Welded seam fittings are covered by ANSI B16.9 standards? Or they must be seamless?

RE: ANSI B16.9

If you review ASME/ANSI B16.9, this pertains to wrought butt welding fittings that could be welded or seamless. Under paragraph 5), Material, wrought fittings are covered under the following material specifications - ASTM A 234, A 403, A 420, A 815, B 361, B 363,  and B 366. For example, Standard Specification ASTM A 420 deals with welded or seamless carbon or low alloy steel fittings.

RE: ANSI B16.9

Note; Standard Specification for Welded or Seamless carbon or low alloy steel fittings is A 234, not A 420.
