ASCE 7-98 & 7-02...

ASCE 7-98 & 7-02...

Florida Building Code's COR for wind loads is 7-98 and specifies Table 6-12 for screen enclosures.  I currently have 7-02 and the table numbers have changed (no Table 6-12).

Can someone with both 7-98 and 7-02 please tell me what Table 6-12 corresponds to in the 7-02 edition?  Thanks.

WillisV-

The work is being done in Broward County, and their COR is 2001.  I had asked them about the their references to the 2005 code, but the one of the staff engineers assured me the current applicable code is 2001.  So, i am using that code.

I also checked with the local building dept in that county (Coral Springs) and they too verified 2001.

Thanks though.

RE: ASCE 7-98 & 7-02...

Wouldn't the State Building Code override the local?

RE: ASCE 7-98 & 7-02...

selarose,

responding to your question:

ASCE 7-98 Table 6-12 is the table for Force Coefficients, Cf for Open Signs and Lattice Frameworks.

In ASCE 7-02, the same table appears as Table 6-21.  There are no changes from the 98 version.

thanks chichuck.

i actually went back and checked again to see which code was current.  low and behold, as of october 1, 2005 the 2004 FBC is now current.  I called the county and told them and they "didn't know about it" and would get back to me.  Yeah, government.
