Need data of referenced joist.  Data needed are: 1. moment of inertia in inch^4 2. Uniformely distibuted load in lbs/linear foot 3. if concentrated loads are allowed for such joist.

RE: Ganon Steelworks 24J3 Serie Open Web Steel Joists

I assume that this is a followup question to a previous post.

You may get a uniform load capacity from a load table for that particular joist (if you have that available). Any concentrated load will reduce the listed uniform load capacity in the load table.

With significant concentrated loads, you may need to do a complete structural analysis. To do so, you will have to field measure all the members and note the connections. Please note that you may get stress reversals in the web members due to the concentrated load which may require reinforcement. If the end reaction is greater than the one listed in the load table, that may also require reinforcement.
