Problem with abaqus viewer

Problem with abaqus viewer

(OP)
Hello,

I'm having a problem when trying to view the results of a particular simulation in abaqus viewer.
I can see the results when I launch the viewer while the simulation is still running (it's got 60 steps), but after it finishes when I try to plot the contours it shuts down with an error: "FD_CLOSE_BIT error detected: WSAECONNECTABORTED...". Couldn't find anything related to this in the manuals.
I've looked into the .msg, .dat, .sta files but everything looks ok. Apparently there's nothing wrong with the calculations...
Does anyone know what's the reason for this?
I'm having it run again and will check on it regularly to see if I can identify a particular step where the problem is arising.
Thank you

RE: Problem with abaqus viewer

Sounds like something for the Abaqus help desk.

RE: Problem with abaqus viewer

what's the value of the prememory in the env-file?

RE: Problem with abaqus viewer

(OP)
It's 33 354 432.
I'm running a heat transfer analysis and I noticed that it happens in the cooling step where I have some fortran code in USDFLD. I've got an expression with powers of fractions and I think that's the root of the problem. But I've double checked everything and all seems to be in order, no negative values for the base expression... also, the simulation runs to the end with no error message.
I'm trying to sort it out, but any suggestion will be helpfull.
Thanks

RE: Problem with abaqus viewer

There is a hint to the error message on the abaqus web site. This is probably a problem with your graphic card, which is not supported by abaqus.

Could you send me the link to the page where that error is mentioned?
I couldn't find anything in the abaqus website...
Thanks

RE: Problem with abaqus viewer

you find in the abaqus answers, answer id 1488. Use the link "my abaqus" in www.abaqus.com
