What % of diesel gets cracked, what % ends up in LCO?

What % of diesel gets cracked, what % ends up in LCO?

What % of diesel gets cracked, what % ends up in LCO?

(OP)
The LP is increasing the DSL/LVGO swing cut pt effectively running dsl thru the Cat. The model has a VABP corrector but it looks like only 15% of dsl goes to LCO. The process engineers say its more like 30-40%.

Has anybody modeled dsl in the cat cracker? Any estimates on % to LCO, % cracked products?

You should not assume that all other engineers at all other refineries use the same  acronyms as you do. It only takes a minute or so longer to write your question in English rather than in acronyms.  Tell us if these are what you meant:

DSL = dsl = diesel oil
LVGO = light virgin gas oil (from crude ditillation unit)
LCO = light cycle oil (from fluid catalytic cracker)
Cat = fluid catalytic cracker
LP = linear program ??
cut pt = cut point ??
VABP = volume average boiling point ??

I don't mean to preach, but making your question crystal clear will help you get more intelligent answers.

Good point on the definitions.

DSL = dsl = diesel oil
LVGO = light vacuum gas oil (from vacuum ditillation unit)
LCO = light cycle oil (from fluid catalytic cracker)
Cat = fluid catalytic cracker
LP = linear program
cut pt = cut point
VABP = volume average boiling point

How different are diesel and VGO cracking patterns?

I suggest that you contact Bill Wilson at jww(at)fccexpert.com and/or Steve Kalota at skalota (at)pacbell.net ... I am sure that they can answer your question.
