Cross-Ref. Between Numbering Systems and Grades?

Cross-Ref. Between Numbering Systems and Grades?

Cross-Ref. Between Numbering Systems and Grades?

(OP)
Just curious if there exists some form of a cross-reference between the ASTM standard designations (eg, A693) and the UNS designations (eg, S174000)?

Also, is there a cross-reference between the ASTM numbers and the various types of stainless steels (for example, a listing of all the ASTM standards that are applicable to Type 304 SS)?

RE: Cross-Ref. Between Numbering Systems and Grades?

The UNS reference book lists this information

Metals & Alloys in the Unified Numbering System, 10th Edition
Published September 2004, Paperbound, ISBN: 0-7680-1488-3

RE: Cross-Ref. Between Numbering Systems and Grades?

If you look at current ASTM standards you will note that UNS numbers are used to denote the various alloys that fall under that same specification.

Thanks for the reference.

And you're right, Steve:  My older hard copy references do not have UNS information, but if I pull up an ASTM standard using our on-line reference service - there's the UNS info!

The tables in the back of the new 10th ed. of the UNS handbook are great for this.
