Rounds - single edge

Rounds - single edge

Rounds - single edge

(OP)
Hi
I'm trying to create a round along a single edge but Wildfire 2 always wants to include a number of adjacent edges (chains)?. How do I prevent this as I need to give these adjacent edges different radii?

RE: Rounds - single edge

Not entirely sure, but think I'd look into creating the round features as a surface set and then Solidify after it's all done.  Look into Transitions.  You should be able to Stop At Reference to keep it from running the tangent chain.  You could also let it run 'em and trim the created surfs. ...  Or are you looking for a variable rad feature?

RE: Rounds - single edge

with the round activated look under
sets/details/rule based/partial loop

RE: Rounds - single edge

While the round is active, hit the "Pieces" tab and then pick a piece of the round you want to cut out. Then use the drag handles to modify the round to the single edge that you want.

In cases where this fails, do what Jeff sugested and change it's attachment (under Options) to surface and have it create end surfaces. You might then need to make some more patches to get the intersection to be the way you want it to, and then finally solidify it.
