Limit to lighting elements?

Limit to lighting elements?

Limit to lighting elements?

(OP)
I'm trying to insert 'point lights' into a lamp fixture design. There are more than 9 points I need, but Solidworks or Photoworks is only letting me add 8 point lights. Is this a memory limit in my computer or a program limitation? Is it possible to get around this?
Thanks!

RE: Limit to lighting elements?

It's actually and OpenGL limintation. There isn't a way to get around it.

You could try using Indirect Illuminiation in PW and setting your light material to constant.  Anything with a constant setting in PW (when using ID) will give off a glowing (light) effect.  This technique only works in some cases.  It really depends on the render.

RE: Limit to lighting elements?

To control the method rockguy mentioned, you can use the constant illumination type for your material, and then make that material somewhat transparent.

See thread559-134800 for more details and previews of what this looks like.
