Adjustment between a counterweight & crankshaft
Adjustment between a counterweight & crankshaft
(OP)
Are there published tables for standard fitting if you know the rpm & power of a compressor??? I need to calculate stress values on the crankshaft but I don´t know wich is the force that made the counterweight on it.
Is there any Code or standard about that?
Thanks...

RE: Adjustment between a counterweight & crankshaft
It isn't clear what you are trying to do, but the counterweights are sized to balance the crankpin plus the reciprocating weight. Usually a percentage of the reciprocating weight, like 50%, is added to the counterweight. The reason is that if you balance all of the reciprocating weight in the vertical direction, you introduce a component in the horizontal direction. So you balance part of the vertical component and tolerate some horizontal component.
Maybe you already know that. Apologies if so. For stress calculations you could look for procedures use for internal combustion engines.
