SW help files

SW help files

(OP)
Are the SW help files resident on the computer or do you have to have web access (help, tutorials, etc.)?  I saw a computer that had web access but when help or the tutorials were pulled up, it gave the windows explorer "unable to link" screen.  They said that it had worked before but now it was giving them issues. Any ideas on why SW would just "lose" the help files?

RE: SW help files

They are resident on the machin. You can find them in the SW install directory\lang\english and their extension is *.chm files. They use Active X to display.

There have been some security issues that happen if the *.chm files are not allowed to open (windows Hotfix causes this) It will cause them not to open. I am not a my work machine to tell you how to turn the security on or off, but if you get a message, then select "always". I believe that should fix it.

If Active X is not installed properly they will not launch. See if you can find hte files, if so then it's a windows issue of getting either the Active X or security issue figured out.
