Vegetable oil soluble polymer

Vegetable oil soluble polymer

Vegetable oil soluble polymer

(OP)
Hallo!
I am looking for a special polymer with following characteristics:
-soluble in vegetable oil (up to 5wt%)
-linear structure
-high molecular weight
Any suggestions?
Thanks JG

RE: Vegetable oil soluble polymer

Vegetable oil is not so polar and so you are looking for a relatively low polarity polymer (like dissolves like). To be really sure the best thing is to check the "solubility parameter" of the oil and then look for a polymer with the same solubility parameter. I know that SBS copolymers (like Styroflex or some Kraton grades) swell heavily in vegetable oil and may even dissolve in it. I would try them first.
