Air Receiver from Propane Tank
Air Receiver from Propane Tank
(OP)
An electrical co-worker asked me if a 20 lb grill-style propane tank can be used as a 150 psig air receiver for home use. I checked DOT, and the design pressure of 250 psig looks OK. What about altering the tank for a relief valve and a water drain? I'd suspect that the condensate could corrode from inside after a few years and cause problems. I'm going to recommend against his project. Any other opinions?

Go to Home Depot or cosco and purchase a Coded PV designed for air they are so cheap I can not touch and compete with the price even for my own use.
I hope you will get the message.
