steel pipe specs for cryogenic applications

(OP)
Has anyone ever specified anything other than stainless steel for cryogenic pipe applications (-180°C)?

I was going to spec A312 TP304 but then I found 9% nickel steel that could do the job too, A333 Gr. 8. The question is, can you commercially buy this high nickel steel? Would it actually be less expensive than the stainless and are there other problems that I'm not aware of such as weldability?

RE: steel pipe specs for cryogenic applications

Do a advance search for LNG

36% NICKEL STEEL INVAR is used in Japan. I have the Piping Classiffication Specification for 36% NI - INVAR AND A312 TP304.
