Aluminium Peel Shim

Aluminium Peel Shim

Aluminium Peel Shim

(OP)
Hi guys,

I am wondering if some of you have the approximate value of the compression modulus of an aluminium peel shim. Really, I am going to fill in some gaps with these shims and I am going to take into account their deformation under preload since they seem quite flexible.

Best regards,

Franck

RE: Aluminium Peel Shim

One would hope that the shim stock manufacturer would have this information.

I suspect that the value would be somewhat less than that for the aluminum material itself, to account for whatever the stick-it-together stuff is.

If it is important enough for you to take it into account, then it is important enough to test it yourself.

RE: Aluminium Peel Shim

franck...keep in mind that a series of leaves of shim will not act as a solid piece and therefore the modulus value you find for the material will be quite high compared to the performance modulus, and as MintJulep noted, the goo to attach.
