Hello Folk,
Anybody please provide the list of the new and efficient alkanolamines that are used for the Acid-gas removal.

RE: Alkanolamines
I am not quite sure what you mean by "the new and efficient alkanolamines for acid gas removal". Here is a list of many of the amines that have been and are being used for removing acid gases from a gas stream:
Monoethanolamine (MEA)
Diethanol amine (DEA)
Methyldiethanolamine (MDEA)
Diisopropylamine (DIPA)
Diglycolamine (DGA)
Diethylamine (DETA)
Then there are the "hindered" amines (such as Exxon's Flexisorb) which have been developed to increase the selectivity of H2S relative to CO2.
A Google search will provide a wealth of articles on the advantages and disadvantages of the various amines in specific gas treating situations.

RE: Alkanolamines
If someone has found some new amines to compete with the ones that have been around since R. R. Bottoms patented the MEA process in 1935, they are keeping it a secret. No news of such discovery has reached my ears and I would be interested in who has done this and what are these chemicals that can economically compete with the amines. Please let us know where you heard this news.
