Nastran Memory allocation

Nastran Memory allocation

Nastran Memory allocation

(OP)
I am currently on a computer that has 4GB of RAM.  I am trying to allocate the maximum amount of memory to NASTRAN for the run.  The most I can give it in the command line is 1536MB (1.5 GB) and that doesn't even work some of the time (1024mb works all the time).  I would like to be able to allocate at least 2GB.  I have checked my system resources and confirmed that at the time of my run I had 3+GB of memory free.  The closest solution I found on the forum is here http://www.eng-tips.com/viewthread.cfm?qid=138744&page=1 but that did not work for me.  Also I am running from the command prompt with "nastran bdf_file.bdf scr=yes mem=2048mb"

The exact error message that I get is "Open Core Memory Allocation Failed" in the .log file.  The .f06 file is completely blank.

Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks in advance.
