Has anyone jumped into the 64Bit Windows version of V5R16? If so, any significant gains?

RE: V5R16 WIN64

As  far as I know, CATIA is only in R15 version. But about the 64bit, it seems it is already compatible.

I also would like to have some more info. about this issue.

RE: V5R16 WIN64

Catia is currently in R16SP01.  I got mine last week.

I have no results, as I have not installed yet.  Just wanted to chime in on the version.

Someone else please build upon the original question...

RE: V5R16 WIN64

I've done some testings on a dell with intels 64EMT using XP64. I know that the Intel cpus aren't the real deal but the performance increase is significant. It loads faster, but I haven't done any comparisons yet, this just the first impressions.

RE: V5R16 WIN64

We have acouple 64 bit machines but we are still on v5r15. we have had a harder time updating drawings with r15 on 64 bit machines. we just got v5r16 but will not load till sp4 so not sure on gains. one thing i did hear is that 64 bit machines and 64 bit catia will not support VBA. any body know if this is true?

RE: V5R16 WIN64

It's definitely true at V5R15, as R15 is AIX only.  It also won't run VBScript or CATScript.  Nor will it talk to VPM or LCA.

I believe that I read something in the Program Directory for R16 that there are still some restrictions on scripting for 64 bit, but I don't remember exactly what they are.
