thread404-101897

Hello all.
Could anyone suggest a list of magnetorheological fluids makers, possibly european. Thanks

RE: Magnetorheological

Depending on useage, you have different sources. You can make some at home, mix powdered iron with a thick oil.

For optics finishing some slightly abrasive fluids are available.

Or GM (Cadillac) has this in shock absorbers now, maybe can buy refil at parts store?

RE: Magnetorheological

Sorry, someone corrects me, Lord Corporation makes the Cadillac shocks. Contact them as fluid is proprietary patent.

Lord Corp. production in 2004 was several hundred tons, ~600USD per Litre for small batch, ~60-180USD per Litre for big quantity.

RE: Magnetorheological

Delphi makes the MagneRide shocks for GM using MR fluid from Lord.
