Pitting Performance - 304 vice 304L

(OP)
Does anyone have data or thoughts on the pitting performance of Type 304 stainless steel versus Type 304L?
Are they expected to be similar, or is one significantly different?

RE: Pitting Performance - 304 vice 304L

x-posting is not allowecd here. Please do not post the same thing in multiple fourms. Most of the people who read this fourm also read the stainless steel fourm.

RE: Pitting Performance - 304 vice 304L

In my opinion 304 and 304L have the same pitting behaviour, the L version has only better weldability properties due to its lower carbon content.

Massimo
