Looking for optical or photonics add-ons for Inventor

Looking for optical or photonics add-ons for Inventor

(OP)
I am trying to convince my employers to upgrade from SW to Inventor, for reasons too numerous to mention. Are there any Inventor users on this forum in a similar business, we do laser design, mostly DOD, some commercial. This requires very large assembly models, and analysis tools that simply don't exist for SW. Any information on add-ons specific to the laser industry, or success stories with Inventor, will strengthen my case for switching to Inventor.

RE: Looking for optical or photonics add-ons for Inventor

Have you looked at the premium version of SolidWorks? that has alot of very good analysis tools in and some large assembly tools too. There is also a very high end optical analysis/simulation tool available as an add on for SW called Optis Works. Where are you located in the world? UK or USA? I have used optis works before and it is very good. let me know if you want some more information because i could go on forever!

Cheers

D
