Transformer Thermal Time Constants

(OP)
Has anyone seen references with cooling and heating thermal time constants for dry type transformers. I'm also wondering how to best measure that on site.

RE: Transformer Thermal Time Constants

Beware that there are different type of dry transformer technologies such as cast resin, cast coil, open wound impregnated and encapsulated. Each of those transformers may have different thermal time constant.

For additional reference, consult also the IEC standard 905 for Loading guide for dry type transformers. Check also the enclose link for temperature measurement http://www.capgo.com/Resources/Temperature/TempHome/TempMeasurement.html
