I recently completed my BSc Geological Engineering and presently working in UK as an assistant engineering, have been doing so for just over 2mnth on a £200M project which will last a year. Can some one kindly tell me what examinations is one required to take in other to register and to work as a geotechnical engineer in Canada. What type of softwares and level of CAD knowlege do I require

Working in Canada requires registration with the provincial or territorial association. For many jurisdictions, it may also require residency. Try visiting www.ccpe.ca (select 'English', 'Mobility', 'International Mobility' - they also have links to the provincial and territorial associations. You may wish to contact CCPE or the jurisdictional members directly in order to receive better advice than I can give at present.
