Venezuelan Oil Production

Venezuelan Oil Production

Venezuelan Oil Production

(OP)
Does anyone have some current, or up to date, information on oil production from Venezuela?  I can do a web search and find two or three year old data, but what is going on now?  And how does that compare to last year and earlier?  Or is it a state secret?

RE: Venezuelan Oil Production

Try Google News for current information. This from a US House of Representatives briefing.

Venezuelan capacity is expected to continue to grow slowly from 2.9 mbd in 2005 to 3.4 mbd by 2015, despite the huge resource potential. The Orinoco extra-heavy projects are currently contributing 650,000 bd. The sluggish recovery from the strike in 2002/03 is reflected by the continued slow increase in the number of active rigs and a slow buildup in investment. Also, changes in the investment and political climate will affect future levels of investment.

.
It should be made clear that owg's mbd means millions of barrels per day.

This USA Department of Energy web site gives the Venezuelan crude oil production in November 2005 as being 2.5 million barrels per day:
