St.52.3 welded to LTCS piping
St.52.3 welded to LTCS piping
(OP)
Hi,
Anybody having experience with WPS/PQR's for welding heavy wall piping (NPS 2"-14,2mm) in material equivalent to API 5L-X52 (St-52.3) to material ASTM A333-6 / A420-WPL6 / A350-LF2 Class 1.
Material group as per ASME B31.3 for X52 is S-1 and for A333-6 it is P-1.
Any other issues to take care with other than that of a max. carbon content of 0.23% and CE max. 0.43%?
Thanks for any help.
Regards.
FKE

In general though, I wouldn't expect problems welding the two materials as long as you use a low hydro process and apply good practice.
