Valley-Valley-Ridge to Ridge Beam Connection

Valley-Valley-Ridge to Ridge Beam Connection

Valley-Valley-Ridge to Ridge Beam Connection

(OP)
I am not sure on how to connect (2) 3 1/2"x16" LVL valley beams along with a 3 1/8"x18" Glulam ridge between the valley beams to a 5 1/8"x16.5" Glulam Ridge that is perpendicular to the 3 1/8" ridge.  So all three beams are coming in at the same point.  I was thinking of maybe thru-bolting them all together then thru-bolting into the 5 1/8" ridge somehow?
Any Ideas?

RE: Valley-Valley-Ridge to Ridge Beam Connection

Many times - multiple wood beam connections are made using steel plate configurations to form a custom connection bracket.  This can be either simple side plates welded together or a series of "U" shaped brackets all linked together.

Check Simpson and UBS websites for connections.

I have done what JAE suggests when confronted with this problem.  You might be able to do it with bent plates too.  If you thru bolt the supported members, make sure there is enough room to physically get the bolts in there because space aan be tight.
