Delay in selecting multilple components from ass. nav.

Delay in selecting multilple components from ass. nav.

Working with nx3:
When selecting multiple components from the assembly navigator, selecting gets delayed (several seconds) between the first selection en the second (selecting the third and the rest causes no delays).

It has not always been this way.

Does anyone knows the cause and how to get rid of it (when possible)?

RE: Delay in selecting multilple components from ass. nav.

What graphics card are you using?  When you select items from the navigator it also highlights them on the screen if they are visible.  It sounds like it could be a graphics card issue.  You could also go into your Preferences->Selection and try turning off preselection or reducing it's delay but I'm not sure if that's going to help anything when selecting from the navigator.

Take care....

Thanks HellBent,

My graphics card is a "NVIDIA Quadro4 980 XGL", but I don’t think the problem is with the card.
Because, when opening an assembly without the components, the (very annoying) delays in between selecting the first and second components in a range also occur.
By the way, the delays don’t appear every time I select a range of components but nearly every first time. And then, when selecting the same range again there is no delay (most of the times). It looks as if the components of the first selection are now in a buffer.
Maybe it has something to do with our external TeamCenter connection, because when monitoring the in and outgoing bytes with the Windows Task manager it shows data transfer at the same times the delays occur, and no data transfer when there is no delay.
And again it looks like the previous mentioned buffer is involved.
Some colleagues have the same problem, others don’t. Maybe some variable setting will be the solution. However I don’t know which yet.

Met vriendelijke groet…
