Relations between 3D stuff and a 2D layout

Relations between 3D stuff and a 2D layout

(OP)
Hello, I have a question

This is a model of the box I want to create

This is a sketch of a 4'x8' sheet, representing a cut plan for the sides of the box.

Does anyone have any reccomendations for how to link up the dimentions of the 3D panels, so they will update the 3D sketch when I adjust the box size?  I have tried setting "Equal" relations, but they only work in the two dimentions that the sketch is in..

I have also tried laying it out in a drawing, but elements from diffferent angles don't want to relate to each other.

Is there some other way I should go about this?
Thanks

RE: Relations between 3D stuff and a 2D layout

I would make another assembly or maybe a configuration of your box assembly where you use the same panel parts as in the box assembly but they are arranged in the flat inside of of a 4'x8' sketch bounding box.  Then the parts will be realated to each other (the same part really) and both configurations can be shown on a drawing.  just an idea??

I would probably do the same as Rockguy.

Thanks, that's a great idea. I'll try it out.
